Friend and colleague, Gianluca Pugliese, is a professor of Digital Fabrication, Additive Manufacturing, and Sustainability. Pugliese is the manager of WASP Iberia and founder of LowPoly; a 3D printing company based in the implementation of sustainable materials.
Co author, Diego Garcia Cuevas is an architect and professor of Architectural Geometry, Parametric Design and Design. He is the co-founder of the Controlmad Advanced Design Centre (Madrid). Together they have created Advanced 3D Printing with Grasshopper Clay and FDM a textbook for 3D printing and parametric design in Grasshopper!
What is parametric design and why is it so important? Parametric design refers to a 3D model that evolves as values and constraints are altered. Grasshopper is a Rhino plugin used to create parametric models using the example equation shown below.
