First, we create a 3D model from the concept given by the client. The client gets complete creative freedom about what they would like to make. 3D printers are perfect for creating designs that would be impossible to use in any other kind of manufacturing. We want to be able to capitalize on using technology to the fullest extent. Once the design has been finalized, we go through design testing.
This process starts by testing whether the design can be 3D printed. Like any tool, 3D printers have limitations on what they can make. Our WASP 3D printers work by stacking one layer on top of another. This means that if the model goes out at too far of an angle, the machine will not be able to print it properly. In the image below, you can see the highlighted regions where the machine would have an issue printing. In these regions, the model would need to be pulled in more to have it print properly. This will make it so the material is built on top of itself more so that it can bond properly. This process of testing the design and making the modifications is repeated until there are no issues with printing the design anymore.

Next, we test the strength of the design. In our simulation software, the 3D model is set to match the material that it is being printed in, and the amount of weight it will be holding. This will allow us to know if the design will be safe to use, or if any further modifications need to be made for it. This can be as simple as making the walls on the design thicker or modifying the design to make it stronger.
Once the design has been tested, it is ready to print. On our WASP 3MT Industrial, you are able to print in a wide variety of colors. It can be made as a solid color, as well as blend colors together. This allows every single piece to have its own unique appearance. The piece can be printed to be one of a kind, or you can make 100 of them. It could be a custom design to fit your needs or a product sold on the market.
